Download or Prepare the Client

Use the website client for the easiest setup. It already includes the required addons and patches. If you already have a clean 3.3.5a client, download the patches and addons separately.

Downloads

Configure Realmlist

Open C:\EvolvedWOTLK\Data\enUS\realmlist.wtf and point it to EvolvedWOTLK. If you also edit Config.wtf, use quotation marks around the realmlist.

Confirm Addons and Patches

Required patches belong in your client Data folder. Required addons belong in Interface\AddOns. The website client already has these included.

Start Playing

Launch the game, log in with your account, create your character, and begin your adventure through Northrend.

Realmlist

Use this value if you already have a compatible 3.3.5a client installed.

Troubleshooting

Most connection problems are caused by client version, realmlist location, cache, blocked downloads, or missing patches.

Wrong client version

Use Wrath of the Lich King 3.3.5a. Newer retail clients, Classic clients, and other expansion clients will not connect correctly.

Realmlist file is in the wrong folder

For most English clients, edit C:\EvolvedWOTLK\Data\enUS\realmlist.wtf. Other locales use their own folder, such as Data\enGB. You can also set SET realmlist "login.evolvedwotlk.com" in C:\EvolvedWOTLK\WTF\Config.wtf.

Character list or login behaves strangely

Close the client and delete the Cache folder from your WoW directory, then launch the client again.

ZIP download is blocked by the browser or Windows

Check your browser download warning and Windows file properties. If needed, unblock the ZIP before extracting it.

Custom systems are missing

Make sure required patches are in the Data folder and required addons are in Interface\AddOns. The full website client already includes them.
